Physician (Family Medicine)This position may be located at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Physician (Family Medicine), GP-0602-14 Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment. Salary: $124,308 - $315,000 per year.Perform independently formulated full treatment plans based on sound evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current and/or evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Coordinate with facility and community resources to provide multi-disciplinary comprehensive care to all patients. Perform emergency services or crisis intervention, including life-saving emergency procedures when necessary. Serve as member of the professional medical staff and/or faculty to provide advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and/or boards. Evaluate the care provided to patients at Military Treatment Facility. Advise on difficult or complex cases. Serve as a member of the faculty for the Family Medicine Residency Program. Performs other duties as assigned.Conditions of employment include a suitability or fitness determination, a Personnel Security Investigation, eligibility for a Secret security clearance, seasonal influenza vaccinations, random drug testing, immunization screening, Basic Life Support certification, a current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Physician, ability to lift up to 40 lbs., and working uncommon tours of duty hours.QualificationsUS Citizenship required. Basic requirement for Physician (Family Medicine): Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training. Residency Training for GP-14 Position: Applicants must possess 4 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training. Experience may not be substituted for residency training that is required for the specialty identified.
