State and Local Tax Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a State and Local Tax Associate in Albany, NY. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience in state and local tax law, with a strong understanding of New York State and local tax regulations. Duties Advise clients on state and local tax issues, including personal and corporate income tax. Represent clients in audits, administrative appeals, and litigations. Prepare audit responses, legal briefs, and ruling requests. Conduct legal research and prepare technical analyses. Assist with tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings. Stay informed on tax laws and regulations. Participate in client meetings and business development. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Strong academic credentials. Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other practice areas. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) Certifications None specified Skills Knowledge of New York State and local tax laws. Understanding of multistate tax principles. Experience in administrative appeal work.
