As Interior Designer II, you will be responsible for stewarding STITCH’s Client Experience across a wide range of projects and mediums. Ideal Candidate Expectations Foundations Documentation – Intermediate to advanced knowledge of construction document production and detailing for all project phases. Programming – Intermediate knowledge of programming techniques, and ability to implement them with client and end users. Finding the Client’s why and clearly identifying the project goals. Communication – Strong graphic, written, and oral communication skills. Design Discovery – Ability to ideate through diagrams, research and other means to generate thoughtful concepts. Design – Ability to take a design concept and translate it into physical space and form that are beautiful, functional, and impactful. Visualization – Ability to and a desire to learn additional ways to convey design ideas in unique and visual compelling formats. Hand sketching, 3D renderings, diagrams, virtual reality, etc. Finishes – Basic knowledge of materials and their applications, availability, and cost. FF&E – Experienced knowledge of product lines and process to design, document, and coordinate packages. Tectonics – Ability to think holistically about a concept early for code implications and constructability. Collaboration – Strong team player who is inclusive and inspiring. Ideal Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/Architecture and 6+ years related professional experience. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office or similar software. Certification or interest in completing NCIDQ exams. Position Title: Interior Designer II FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Studio Lead Responsibilities Generates architectural concepts for interiors projects full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating interior design assignments. Plans and designs interior aspects of large or multiple projects by developing appropriate concepts and approaches. Manages a small team of designers and regularly coordinates with outside consultants. Other related duties as assigned by Studio Leader or Partner(s). Attend organization and community events on behalf of STITCH, as requested. Minimum Qualifications Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited interior design/interior architecture program. 6+ years interior design experience. NCIDQ certification is preferred. Proficiency with BIM software (Revit preferred); 3D modeling software (SketchUp preferred); Microsoft Office 365. Exceptional organization and communication skills. Creative problem solver with a passion for design; attention to detail. Hold a valid driver’s license. Working Conditions: The Interior Designer II will primarily work in an office environment. There may be an occasional requirement to work on a remote job site. The work hours for this position are predominantly during regular business hours, but may vary as the schedule must accommodate the needs of the project. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, sit, stand, balance, talk, speak clearly, hear, and listen throughout the workday. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to approx. 10 pounds and possess the ability to grasp and move objects.
