Additional Information About the Role Barnes-Jewish Hospital South Campus on 14300 RENAL Inpatient Acute Dialysis 13-Beds. Considering applicants with a minimum two‑years hospital‑based bedside RN work experience. Straight days (7 am‑7 pm). Weekend requirement works every third Saturday (12‑hour shift). On‑call every sixth Sunday for 12 hours. PTO accrual begins day‑one. Eligible for tuition assistance day‑one. May be eligible for sign‑on bonus. Overview Barnes‑Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation’s top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The staff is composed of full‑time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by resident, intern, fellow and other medical professionals. Recognized for excellence in nursing care, Barnes‑Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The Acute Dialysis Unit provides the latest treatments and technologies in renal replacement therapy to help patients with renal failure. It has 12 dialysis bays and portable dialysis machines, enabling RNs to travel throughout the hospital and provide therapy at patients' bedside when needed. The unit offers hemodialysis, CVVHDF, CVVHD, SCUF, SSED, TPE, CCPD and CAPD. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 24 hours per day. On Sundays, the RNs rotate on‑call obligations. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s – Nursing. Experience: No experience required. No supervisor experience required. Licenses & Certifications: RN.
