Pharmacy Technician Position
An expanding home infusion and compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to join their team in Whittier, CA. This direct hire opportunity requires a candidate with hands-on expertise in home infusion or designated compounding pharmacy settings. Inpatient-only experience will not be considered.
Working hours span seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a typical schedule Monday through Friday starting at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., or 10 a.m., and rotating weekend shifts. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet the demands of this dynamic environment. The pharmacy utilizes a proprietary workflow system, so adaptability and technical aptitude will assist in a smooth onboarding process.
Key responsibilities include compounding medications meticulously and engaging in proactive communication with patients and healthcare providers. Effective verbal skills and professionalism are vital as technicians play a pivotal role in ensuring patient care continuity beyond the compounding bench. Candidates with experience in retail compounding pharmacies who possess strong communication skills will also be highly aligned with this role.
Qualifications:
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license required
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification highly preferred
- Proven experience in home infusion or compounding pharmacy
- Strong communication skills to liaise with patients and providers
- Ability to adapt to a proprietary workflow system
