Activities Assistant – Assisted Living

Location: Maple Ridge Manor
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Days rotating Saturday and occasional evenings

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to support our Life Enrichment program in our Assisted Living community. This role helps create meaningful experiences that promote social engagement, independence, and overall well-being for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading group and one-on-one activities such as games, crafts, music, exercise, and social events
• Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to different ability levels
• Provide one-on-one engagement for residents unable to attend group programs
• Help with setup, cleanup, and organization of activity supplies and spaces
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed
• Assist with special events and community outings
• Observe and document resident participation and preferences
• Work collaboratively with care staff and other departments
• Follow safety guidelines, infection control policies, and resident rights at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with seniors, activities, or recreation preferred
• Positive attitude and genuine interest in working with older adults
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to stand, walk, and assist with activities throughout the shift

Preferred

• Experience with memory care or dementia residents
• Creative, outgoing, and patient personality
