Role Summary This role is critical to accelerating our client's engineering organization. As the DevOps & Cloud Engineer, you will own the reliability, scalability, and delivery velocity of the Human-Led AI Orchestration Layer. This is not a pure infrastructure role. You are expected to have backend awareness and contribution capability—supporting API services, deployments, and operational workflows so product teams can move faster without friction. Everything you build is expected to be revenue-ready, secure, and enterprise-grade. Key Responsibilities Cloud & Infrastructure Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure (App Services, Functions, AKS, Key Vault). Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform. Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and secure system boundaries. Optimize cloud cost, performance, and reliability. CI/CD & Delivery Acceleration Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Automate testing, deployments, and environment promotion. Improve developer experience and release velocity across teams. Backend Enablement Support backend services (FastAPI, Python) with deployment, scaling, and runtime optimization. Assist with API observability, logging, and performance tuning. Collaborate closely with backend engineers to unblock delivery and reduce operational overhead. Security & Operations Implement secure networking, secrets management, and identity controls. Configure monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows. Enforce best practices around containerization (Docker) and orchestration (AKS). Strong experience with Azure cloud services. Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions). Hands‑on Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform preferred or Bicep). Backend familiarity with Python/FastAPI sufficient to support and troubleshoot services. Experience with Docker and containerized deployments. Strong understanding of cloud security and networking fundamentals. Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting multi‑tenant SaaS platforms. Familiarity with serverless and event‑driven architectures. Experience supporting AI/ML workloads in production. Exposure to observability stacks (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics). Flexible Hours & Compensation Our client offers a flexible work structure of 20–40 hours per week , depending on role scope and workload. This role is outcome‑driven, not hour‑tracked. Compensation is provided as a fixed monthly stipend , aligned to responsibilities and expected ownership. The stipend remains consistent as long as commitments are met and performance remains strong.
