Job Title Job Title: Huck’s Market Assistant Manager Job Purpose The Assistant Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to contribute to the store’s profitability and to assist the Manager in management functions. The position supports promotion to Store Manager upon completion of training programs and availability of openings. Relocation for openings is negotiable. Responsibilities General Management Provide prompt and courteous service to customers, including greeting customers via the gasoline intercom and upholding Best In Class standards. Monitor shift operating hours and help fill shifts as needed. Cover the Store Manager’s days off and work at least two evening shifts per week to align staffing with peak hours. Perform tasks assigned by the Store Manager. Communicate effectively with store associates and management. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Model professional conduct for other associates. Notify the Store Manager of any sales, cash, or operating discrepancies. Ensure associates wear proper uniforms and provide prompt, courteous service. Complete shift change reports at the beginning and end of each shift per policy. Accurately record all hours worked, using the clock system. Process sales and handle over rings and refunds per policy manuals. Complete daily paperwork and assist with store deposits as directed. Human Resources Treat all associates with dignity and respect and apply proper personnel management techniques. Inform the Store Manager of personnel issues or policy violations affecting store performance. Security Ensure all shift procedures are followed and the environment is safe for customers and staff. Maintain secure handling of cash and merchandise per policy. Follow vendor check-in procedures per policy. Keep coolers, display cases, and shelves stocked and properly faced. Maintain equipment and prepare high-margin products as directed. Use correct pricing as listed in official guides. Maintenance Maintain store appearance to company standards. Keep floors clean and polished; ensure windows and glass are clean. Maintain parking lot condition and ensure restrooms are clean and functional. Report maintenance issues to the Store Manager when immediate resolution is not possible. Keep food service areas clean and follow sanitation procedures. Safety Follow lifting procedures and ensure ladder safety per policy. Use wet floor signs as required. Promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office. Huck’s Bucks Loyalty App Actively promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers and explain benefits of signing up. Monitor transactions for misuse of points or discounts.
