Territory Sales Representative –

Our recruiting firm is representing a leading manufacturer of building envelope and weatherproofing solutions in the search for a Territory Sales Representative supporting the Charleston, SC market .

This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional with experience selling building products, construction materials, commercial/residential building solutions, or related products to builders, contractors, architects, installers, and other construction professionals.

Position Summary

The Territory Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business and expanding existing relationships across the single-family and multi-family construction markets .

The role will focus on building relationships with general contractors, builders, architects, installers, dealers, and third-party consultants , while increasing product adoption, market share, and customer loyalty.

The Territory Sales Representative will work closely with regional sales leadership, sales support, marketing, and other team members to identify opportunities and drive territory growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual territory plan focused on market opportunities, sales growth, and increased market share.
• Prospect and develop new builder and contractor accounts aligned with the company's product portfolio.
• Conduct targeted daily appointments with prospective and existing customers.
• Build relationships with key channel partners and drive pull-through sales .
• Identify opportunities within existing dealer/channel networks and develop strategies to increase market penetration.
• Develop contractor relationships through product knowledge, market segment, and sales training.
• Conduct product training for general contractors, installers, and other trade professionals.
• Manage and maintain a project pipeline using Salesforce CRM .
• Track specified and submitted projects through the order stage.
• Collaborate with internal sales and technical teams to ensure successful execution of opportunities.
• Provide technical assistance, project-startup support, dealer support, contractor assistance, and problem resolution as needed.
• Monitor competitive activity, market trends, product developments, and customer needs.
• Evaluate sales strategies and programs and adjust as necessary to achieve territory objectives.
• Participate in relevant industry associations, regional design organizations, trade shows, and promotional events.
• Assist with product development initiatives by providing market and customer feedback.
• Gather and communicate market intelligence related to competitors, products, programs, distribution, shipping, and market segments.
• Identify prospective strategic opportunities and communicate findings to sales leadership.

Ideal Background

The ideal candidate will bring a proven outside sales background within building products, construction materials, building envelope, waterproofing, roofing, insulation, or a related construction industry .

Experience working with builders, general contractors, architects, installers, dealers/distributors, or construction consultants is highly valuable.

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

• Business-to-business outside sales experience
• Construction or building-products industry experience
• New business development and territory growth experience
• Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills
• Experience working with builders, contractors, architects, or installers
• Ability to conduct product and technical presentations
• Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a regional sales team
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory
