Essential Job Functions:

• Verifies prescription entries compared to labels performed by Pharmacy Technicians into QS1 system
• Performs a quality check ensuring prescribedmedication filled match labels that are provided out of the QS1 system.
• When necessary, fills prescriptions; obtainsthe order; types the prescription; counts the pills associated with apre prescription.
• Ensures proper check in/verification andstorage of all medications and merchandise received.
• Detects and/or resolves potentially lifethreatening problems with medications via telephone conversations withclients, doctors, and other SMA employees.
• Meets with sales representatives; orderssupplies and drugs.
• Assist in the writing of pharmacy policiesand procedures.
• Available for consultation with clientsregarding medication and usage.
• Controls verbally and/or physically abusiveand aggressive clients and perform aggression control techniques ifnecessary.
• Communicates effectively with suicidal,mentally, emotionally, and/or psychologically disturbed clients inperson and over the telephone to diffuse potentially life threateningsituations.
• Performs other related work as required.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors' Degreein Pharmacy with two (2) years of Pharmacist experience required. State of Florida Pharmacist Licenserequired. Two (2) years of manager experience and 340b experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities:

• Knowledge of pharmacy procedures and practices.
• Knowledge of medications and their side effects and ability todetect abuse of drugs.
• Ability to work with HIV/Bloodborne pathogens.
• Ability to handle verbally and/or physically aggressive clientsand utilize Mandt to ensure the safety and well-being of the client,other clients, and employees.
• Ability to communicate effectively with suicidal, mentally, emotionally,and/or psychologically disturbed clients in person and over thetelephone.
• Extensive knowledge of rules, regulations, safety procedures,state, federal, and local laws, and legislative requirements pertainingto program compliance, including Department of Professional Regulationstandards for Pharmacy Operations and Licensure.
• Considerable knowledge of personnel and administrative policiesand procedures, as well as knowledge of Board of Pharmacy policies,procedures, and regulations.
• Experience with program budgetary planning.
• Ability to supervise and guide the work of others in makingcomplex client treatment/clinical decisions.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing withother employees, program staff, clients, outside organizations, andothers.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationshipswith other employees, medical and clinical professionals, and thegeneral public.

Necessary Special Requirements:

Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable drivingrecord, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive anSMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State ofFlorida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during thefirst six (6) months of employment and updated if required.

Physical:

Mobility and ability to bend andreach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 10 pounds. Visual andauditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record clienthealth care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate charting, dailycorrespondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work enduranceability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, as possible. Routine 8-12hourshifts. Hours and days off may vary. Extra hours may be required. Workassignment locations may vary.
