About the role: Prompt Engineering & Iterative Refinement with AI‑assistances. Review and understand existing firmware code. Assist in modifying and improving firmware code based on project requirements. Assist in firmware testing, identifying and debugging issues, and documenting. Minimum Qualifications: High proficiency in modern AI‑assisted IDEs and platforms like Cursor, Windsurf, or Bolt.new. Undergraduate or graduate pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Courses in embedded systems are a significant plus. Proficiency in C/C++ is essential, as these are the primary languages for embedded systems. Knowledge of scripting languages like Python is also highly valued for automation and testing. Preferred Skills & Qualifications: A solid understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real‑time operating systems (RTOS) is critical. Familiarity with hardware components, peripherals, and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART) is also essential. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills are required to debug complex, low‑level issues that often arise in firmware development. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with different teams and document work clearly. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is also crucial.
