Hallsville School District is accepting applications for the position of Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a 9-month position with benefits. Job Responsibilities Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material skills initially introduced by the teacher. Assists the teacher with reinforcing material or skills based on the understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities. Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher. Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips. Assists with large group activities such as reading aloud and storytelling. Reads to students and participates in other forms of oral communication with students. Helps students with their clothing, toileting, personal needs, etc., based on students' needs as determined by their abilities. Assists with lunch, snack, and cleanup routines. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student information. Participates in district training programs, as assigned. Attend CPI certification training. Assists with small group re‑teaching activities in both special education and regular education classrooms. May be assigned a daily am/pm bus route as a ride‑along aide on the bus. Support the implementation of PBIS strategies to promote positive behavior and a safe, respectful learning environment for students. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, talk, listen, and respond. The employee is regularly required to sit; use repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Occasionally, the employee may lift up to 50 pounds, such as to lift files, papers, and equipment.
