Registered Nurse, Rn- Medication Management / Education Program
Provides mobile professional psychiatric nursing care to behavioral health consumers residing in the community, as well as consultation and support to their families and care providers.
Essential job functions include maintaining professional and technical knowledge, assuring quality of care, protecting patients and employees, documenting patient care services, maintaining continuity among nursing teams, maintaining patient confidence, identifying patient care requirements, establishing a compassionate environment, promoting patient's independence, maintaining a safe and clean working environment, resolving patient problems and needs, maintaining a cooperative relationship among health care teams, contributing to team effort, ensuring operation of equipment, and maintaining nursing supplies inventory.
Specialty job functions include care coordination, crises management, group facilitation, mobile services, and avoiding providing care in unsafe environments.
Required qualifications include a graduate of an accredited nursing program, one year experience in an acute care setting, strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice, strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, and a nursing refresher course may be required if employee hasn't worked in an acute care setting for his/her most recent three consecutive years of professional employment.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in nursing, home care nursing experience, ANA psychiatric nursing certification, experience in dialectical behavior therapy and addictions treatment, and minimum of two years' experience in psychiatric nursing specialty.
License, certification, and clearances include current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Pennsylvania, current basic life support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program, act 33 with renewal, act 34 with renewal, act 73 FBI clearance with renewal, and valid Pennsylvania driver's license (if out of state hire current Department of Motor Vehicle record report required and obtain PA current driver license within 30 days of hire).
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.) and travel may be expected locally between Excela Health locations.
