Therapeutic Court Program CoordinatorThe Therapeutic Court Program Coordinator oversees the development, implementation, coordination, and daily operation of District Court I Therapeutic Court programs, including Mental Health Court and Veterans Court. Under general supervision, this position coordinates judges, attorneys, treatment providers, Veterans Affairs, and community partners; manages participant screening, case plans, referrals, treatment services, and compliance; and participates in court proceedings.The position also develops policies, procedures, forms, and program materials; collects and analyzes data; manages budgets and grants; prepares reports; supports program evaluation and improvement; and researches best practices. The position requires independent judgment, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and stakeholders.Oversee day to day operations of the District Court I Therapeutic Court Programs.Serve as the liaison among the Therapeutic Court's Team of Judge(s), Prosecuting Attorneys, Public Defenders, Veterans Affairs, Mental Health and Substance Use treatment providers and other team members.Work closely with the Therapeutic Court's Team to establish and maintain program admission, screening, graduation, incentive, and sanction criteria.Coordinate communication and network among the above team members so that all are informed and knowledgeable of the program's progress and participants conduct.Develop and maintain detailed participant action plans, which outline objectives, strategies, and tasks; monitor progress and report regularly to designated agencies.Provide active case management services by providing referrals and coordinating/monitoring services program participants to promote successful advancement and eventual graduation from our Therapeutic Court Programs.Coordinate the preparation of necessary documentation including court orders for bench warrants, custody releases, furlough requests, commitment orders and release to treatment.Develop individualized jail/hospital discharge plans to address psycho-social needs.Actively participate in court proceedings on a regular basis.Analyze data, case reports, treatment plans criminal history reports to develop conclusions and recommendations of program and participant success.Create and write program literature, pamphlets, forms, handbooks, and procedures.Prepare procedures manual, forms and other materials as needed for distribution and implementation to participants and organizations.Develop and review program budget for reports to County, State, and Federal agencies.Respond with the Therapeutic Court's Judge or other team member to public inquiries concerning the Therapeutic Court Programs.Train, inform and support new members of the Therapeutic Court team as assigned.Communicate and coordinate with courts to report participant compliance with courts inside and outside of Clallam County regarding legal matters.Coordinate evaluation process by developing measurements of program success, collecting, and analyzing data, and preparing documents and reports.Adjust and enhance the implemented program based on appropriate feedback. Research and implement current local regional and national trends and best practices pertaining to the Therapeutic Court operations.Monitor and ensure compliance with grant proposals and seeks to expanded base of funding for Therapeutic Courts.Other related duties as assigned.The individual selected to fill this position will be required to:Meet attendance standards necessary for successful job performanceDress appropriately for court appearances and interactions with Therapeutic Court's stakeholders and the publicWork independently and as part of a teamExercise discretion and sound judgment in the performance of assigned duties based on law, applicable policies and procedures, and ethical responsibilitiesCommunicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingMeet deadlinesOperate a variety of office equipment including a computer, printer, and various software applicationsEmploy tact and skill in communication as a means through which to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of workContact program participants and prospective participants in a jail setting as requiredAdminister provision of supervised urinalysis sample(s) required of program participant(s)Perform duties as assigned by the Court AdministratorEducation/Training Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Law and Justice, Social Sciences, Psychology or a related field. Experience Two years of experience in a criminal justice or counseling setting with experience in adult probation/corrections. Recent experience working with therapeutic and/or treatment courts is preferred. Special Requirements Requires no history of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of five years immediately prior to date of employment.
