Responsibilities:

• Promotes Elara Carings philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
• Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice as certified by the patients physician.
• Follows Plan of Care as established and supervised by the Physical Therapist, reporting any changes in status back to the therapist.
• Adheres to State Practice Act Guidelines and verifies the Plan of Care prior to each visit.
• Provides care according to physicians orders, assessment data, and established standards and guidelines.
• Incorporates patient care goals into therapy care and instructs patients and/or families in safe use of adaptive and assistive devices.
• Provides patient and caregiver instruction in home therapy programs.
• Maintains physical capability for full range of body motion, including lifting and transferring patients.
• May work irregular hours including call hours as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
• 6+ months of experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the branch coverage area (up to 50%).
• Valid drivers license, dependable vehicle, and current auto insurance per state laws.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
