Fund Accountant (New York City Metropolitan Area)

A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join their team as a Fund Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Support quarterly close activities, including account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and general ledger review.
• Record and review investment transactions to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
• Coordinate capital calls and distributions, including related calculations and documentation.
• Prepare quarterly investor reports, capital account statements, and responses to ad hoc information requests.
• Compile financial reporting packages and assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors, providing schedules and documentation to support annual deliverables.
• Assist with compliance reporting and maintain accurate supporting records.
• Perform financial and operational analyses related to portfolio activity, fund expenses, and managed accounts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in public accounting or private industry, with a focus on private equity funds and/or hedge funds.
• Knowledge of fund accounting, investment transactions, and financial reporting.
• Experience with account reconciliations, capital activity, and investor reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and reporting deadlines.
