The Claremont School District is located in the beautiful and picturesque Upper Valley Area of New Hampshire. The Claremont School District is approximately 35 minutes from Mount Sunapee Ski Resort and 30 minutes from all of the concerts and athletic events at Dartmouth College in Hanover. The Connecticut River flows nearby making kayaking and canoeing very convenient after work and on the weekends. Hiking trails are plentiful. Terms of Employment: Full-Time

Qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of business English telephone etiquette, spelling and arithmetic.
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in progressively responsible clerical work.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, managing spreadsheets, Google Docs, Drive and Calendar, as well as Excel, Word, and other Cloud based storage.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to work independently in the absence of specific instruction.
• Ability to meet the public professionally and in a welcoming manner.
• Ability to work with elementary school students and parents and to be able to de-escalate clients in a variety of situations, either on the phone or in person.

Job Goals:

The job of School Secretary is for the purpose/s of ensuring accurate attendance accounting; resolving attendance related issues; ensuring compliance with State reporting and documenting requirements; conveying attendance related information to appropriate parties; and providing clerical support, information and/or direction as may be assigned at the school site.
