Job Summary

Join our dedicated nursing team as a Registered Nurse in Lewiston, Maine, providing comprehensive care within a dynamic long-term care and rehabilitation environment. This role involves partnering with residents and interdisciplinary care providers to foster a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic setting.

Our facility features specialized units, including a 31-bed unit focused on Alzheimer's/dementia care, a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit for short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation, and a 42-bed long-term care unit. You will deliver direct and indirect patient care, adapting to the unique needs of diverse patient populations, from those requiring specialized dementia care to individuals recovering from acute illnesses or injuries.

The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit provides short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for patients recovering from conditions such as fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, and stroke. Nursing responsibilities often include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management, supporting patients on their path to recovery and improved function.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to residents and patients across long-term care and rehabilitation units.
• Collaborate with residents, families, and the healthcare team to create and maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, particularly for residents with Alzheimer's/dementia, utilizing both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques.
• Assess, monitor, and manage complex patient behaviors, understanding them as potential forms of communication.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and conduct assessments, including IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessments, as needed.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and support their rehabilitation goals.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, observations, and interventions.
• Ensure compliance with all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current RN experience: Not specified.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of previous Registered Nurse (RN) experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
