RN Emergency Department

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a commitment to working every other weekend and every other holiday. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency department setting.

Unit Overview

The Emergency Department is a high-volume area consisting of a 38-bed unit along with an additional 5 fast track rooms and an internal waiting room. The department includes 4 behavioral health swing rooms and 2 trauma/resuscitation rooms. While it is not a designated trauma facility, it regularly handles cases of high acuity. The department also provides care to pediatric patients, so candidates must be comfortable and experienced in treating this population.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing.
Current certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Active and valid nursing license/certification.
Ability to accommodate varying schedules as needed, including weekends and holidays.
Experience in handling pediatric patients is required.
