Choose MITRE for a career with purpose — and help shape the future.MITRE’s Enterprise Network Services department is seeking an Intermediate Applied Cybersecurity Engineer to help manage, maintain, and grow our corporate security infrastructure.Roles & Responsibilities:Manage sustainment & operations ticket queue including triage and resolution of security issuesCoordinate with corporate information security regarding operational changes to security policyAssist senior engineers with developing methods to increase operational efficiencyCollaborate with team and department technical staff regarding operational changesParticipate in 24x7 on call rotation to assist in resolving issues outside normal business hoursParticipate in assisting triage efforts for operational eventsManage individual projects and identify areas of improvementBasic Qualifications:Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.3+ years of general IT, network, or security experienceExposure to basic programming, such as Python or RustHave familiarity with core internet technologiesPrevious exposure to at least one industry vendor such as Palo Alto Networks or Juniper NetworksIntroduction to working with cloud security solutions (Primarily Azure and AWS)Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance.
