Mechanical Construction Director

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Mechanical Construction Director in Phoenix to oversee a portfolio of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects and lead regional operations growth.

Impact
Drive regional revenue growth by expanding the mechanical construction portfolio.
Ensure consistent project execution across multiple active job sites.
Develop high-performing project teams through mentorship and strategic hiring.
Strengthen client relationships and secure long-term partnerships.

Responsibilities
Oversee a portfolio of commercial mechanical construction projects across the region.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve project delivery and profitability.
Lead business development efforts and support preconstruction on key pursuits.
Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, and field leadership.
Manage risk across active projects including safety, quality, and financial performance.
Collaborate with estimating teams on pricing strategies and bid reviews.
Represent the organization at industry events and client presentations.
Report on portfolio performance to executive leadership.

Requirements
Must-Haves
12 or more years of experience in mechanical construction with progressive leadership roles.
Demonstrated success managing a project portfolio exceeding 20 million dollars.
Strong business acumen and understanding of mechanical contracting financials.
Experience building and leading high-performing project teams.
Excellent negotiation and client relationship management skills.

Nice-to-Haves
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, construction management, or business.
PE license or equivalent professional certification.
Experience in the Arizona or Southwest market.

Compensation and Logistics
Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, PTO, and paid holidays. This is a full-time executive role based in the Phoenix metro area.
