Edgewood Health and Rehab, a 119-bed skilled nursing facility in Byram, MS, is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook/Aid to join our team. In this role, you will prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus that change quarterly, ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious and delicious food. You will be an essential part of maintaining food safety standards while collaborating with kitchen staff to keep operations smooth and efficient in our modern commercial kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals following established recipes and menus
- Ensure timely meal preparation meeting quality standards
- Monitor food supplies and order ingredients as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with meal planning and quarterly menu development
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Perform cleaning and food preparation duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in cooking or a similar role in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
