Environmental Services Specialist - HousekeeperWork Shift: Day (United States of America)Full Time DaysSun - Sat 7a -3:30 pmGreat Benefits!!!This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and infection-free environment in specialized hospital areas such as Operating Rooms, Cath Labs, GI Labs, Labor & Delivery Suites, Pharmacy Compounding Labs, and other clinical spaces. The position performs routine, terminal, and isolation cleaning while ensuring compliance with hospital safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCleaning & Infection PreventionPerform routine, terminal, and isolation room cleaning.Clean patient rooms, restrooms, floors, walls, furniture, equipment, and other hospital areas.Follow infection prevention protocols and use appropriate cleaning chemicals.Operate Ultra Violet (UV) disinfection equipment safely and according to policy.Use proper PPE and safe lifting techniques.Waste ManagementRemove, transport, and dispose of various waste streams, including:General wasteBiohazard wasteChemotherapy wastePharmaceutical wasteReplace and manage waste-related containers, including sharps and biohazard containers.Customer ServiceProvide professional and courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.Support Wellstar's commitment to world-class service.Teamwork & CommunicationAssist with special projects and performance improvement initiatives.Document completed assignments.Use Epic to manage bed flow and patient room status.Adapt to staffing needs and cover additional assignments as needed.Minimum QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.ExperienceSome related experience preferred.SkillsAbility to speak, read, write, and understand English.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to follow safety, infection control, and cleaning procedures.Must successfully complete departmental training within the first 30 days of employment.Ideal Candidate ProfileA dependable, detail-oriented individual who:Prioritizes safety and infection prevention.Works well independently and as part of a team.Is comfortable working in highly visible healthcare environments.Demonstrates professionalism when interacting with patients, families, visitors, and staff.Join us and discover the support to do more meaningful work—and enjoy a more rewarding life.
