Pre Post Echo Registered Nurse

Mission Health, a leading healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a dedicated Pre Post Echo Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing echocardiography and related cardiac diagnostic procedures in the pre- and post-procedure phases. You will be responsible for performing comprehensive nursing assessments, reviewing patient histories, medications, and allergies, and ensuring patients are appropriately prepared for echo procedures, including IV starts, monitoring vital signs, and providing education about the test and what to expect. Working closely with cardiologists, sonographers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team, you will monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition. You will administer and titrate medications as ordered, follow evidence-based protocols for moderate sedation when required, and maintain continuous cardiac, hemodynamic, and oxygenation monitoring according to established standards. You will also provide post-procedure recovery care, including ongoing assessment, pain and symptom management, discharge teaching, and coordination of follow-up appointments or additional testing. The Pre Post Echo Registered Nurse will ensure accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record, support safe patient flow by coordinating admissions and discharges to and from the echo and cardiac diagnostic areas, and collaborate with scheduling and ancillary departments to minimize delays and optimize the patient experience. You will adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to maintaining accreditation and regulatory compliance for cardiac services. This position requires a strong clinical foundation in cardiovascular nursing, excellent assessment and critical thinking skills, and the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable with telemetry monitoring, basic dysrhythmia recognition, and responding to urgent situations in collaboration with the care team.
