The Midwest Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team as a full-time provider of trauma-informed care. You will play a pivotal role in delivering specialized therapeutic services to individuals struggling with trauma-related disorders, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and collaboratively create individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailored to meet each patient's unique circumstances.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on helping patients process their trauma, develop coping skills, and promote psychological healing.

• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.

• Offer crisis intervention services when patients face trauma-related emergencies, providing support and stabilization during critical moments.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and the therapeutic resources available to aid in their recovery journey.

• Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation in line with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to contribute to a culture of learning and innovation in trauma-informed practices.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in the field of trauma therapy, including new therapeutic approaches and methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our patient population primarily consists of adults who have experienced trauma and related mental health challenges. You will encounter a diverse range of backgrounds and personal stories, allowing you to tailor your therapeutic approach while fostering an inclusive environment. This role emphasizes understanding each patient's unique history and developing empathetic, personalized treatment strategies that address their specific needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within the state of California.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, ideally focused on trauma-related disorders.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed treatment modalities, trauma-related disorders, and resilience-building techniques.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care.

• Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness amid high-pressure situations.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and proficiency in relevant computer applications.

• A strong capacity for collaboration as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this full-time position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
