Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro/PCU night shift position requiring an active SC or compact license and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Neuro/PCU patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 7p-7a, with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license required in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Telemetry competency required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to neuro/telemetry patients within the PCU
• Complete all assigned training modules prior to start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Royal Blue scrub color required
• Block scheduling accommodations may be requested but are not guaranteed
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard travel rate
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
