Standard Hours: 36.00 Shift: 1900‑0730 (Shift 3) Holidays: Every other holiday rotation Weekends: Every third weekend rotation Job Summary The Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to acute patient care. Provides age‑appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. Reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RN on duty each shift. Other duties as assigned. Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Training Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalency within 6 months of hire. Successful completion of a skill competency checklist validated by a Registered Nurse. Successful completion of an arrhythmia recognition course and orientation to the monitor room to work as a monitor technician is required within 6 months for staff in the FWBH MCU and the FMFH 2nd floor MCU. Candidates with prior monitor technician experience may complete a written competency test. Special Skills Ability to read, write and communicate verbally and in writing. Licensure State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification required, or currently enrolled in a nursing program with documentation of completion of the basic nursing course encompassing all state criteria, including at least one acute care nursing medical/surgical clinical rotation. AHA Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
