Third Party Inspector

JOB SUMMARY:Specialty Inspectors, LLC is currently looking for energetic, driven, and hardworking individuals to join our growing team. The Third-Party Inspector is responsible for conducting daily field inspections and soil density testing for residential projects in the assigned area, involving visual inspections during various stages of construction to confirm compliance with the approved design plans, documenting the observed conditions, and completing inspection reports. This is a field position and travel within the assigned area is required.Prospective applicants must have keen attention to detail, be self-driven, be able to read blueprints and construction documents, understand construction methods and best practices, work independently, work on multiple projects concurrently, and produce accurate results while meeting deadlines.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform visual inspections of residential construction in accordance with client requirements and company standardsCoordinate with Operations team to update inspection status and for timely completion; and inform Operations team and clients of pass/fail inspection resultsPerform soil density testing on compacted soils for building padsPrepare and maintain all required records and reportsWork with Operations team and clients to establish daily inspection schedules based on inspection types, locality, and priorityAssist with other inspection services and/or field materials testing as assignedDevelop and maintain strong professional relationships with clientsEscalate client concerns to immediate supervisor for prompt resolutionADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate with internal cross-departmental teams, clients, and other stakeholdersAttends continuing education training sessions, including voluntary, mandatory, and those required to maintain certificationsSubmits timely and accurate mileage, job costing, and other financial reportingMonitors, reviews, and responds to all communication (email, phone, voicemail) in timely mannerAdhere to all company policies and proceduresAdhere to company communication standardsMaintains and protects all company equipment and suppliesPerform virtual inspections as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Detail orientedAbility to describe in detail observations made at a job siteAbility to read blueprints and other construction documentsGood understanding of residential construction materials and methods including concrete, masonry, wood framing, and stuccoStrong interpersonal skillsClear and effective oral and written communication skillsGood time-management and organizational skillsExcellent record-keeping abilitiesProfessional and team orientatedGood knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookComputer skills, including typing or browsingAbility and willingness to travel in assigned areaMust be able to operate and use basic equipment (i.e.: hard hats, eye and hearing protection, ladders, general hand-held tools such as levels flashlights, tape measurer, and similar tools.)Must be able to work in extreme climate conditionsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of time; walk, bend, reach, and climb in a job site settingAbility to exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objectsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or equivalent is required5 years minimum of construction-related experience is requiredMinimum, ICC Building Inspector Certifications (B1 and B2)Possess OSHA 30-hour certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hireCurrent driver’s license, clean driving record #J-18808-Ljbffr Specialty Inspectors
