Job Description

W H O    W E    A R E
A Small Firm. Big Impact on the Central Coast.

Omni Design is a generalist architecture, engineering adn land survey firm rooted in San Luis Obispo County. We design commercial, civic, and municipal projects that directly improve the communities where our clients live and work — from Paso Robles and Atascadero to Santa Maria and everywhere in between.
We’re a small, close-knit team. That means you get real responsibility, real variety, and a real voice in the work — not a siloed role in a large bureaucracy. When you join Omni Design, you’re joining a team that cares deeply about craft, community, and each other.

Team Leadership
We’re looking for a Job Captain or experienced Designer who's ready to step into more project ownership — leading commercial, civic, and municipal work from first concept through construction administration on California's Central Coast under the mentorship of a Principal-in-Charge.

Working directly with the Principal Architect, you’ll own projects from first concept through construction administration — coordinating clients, consultants, contractors, and governing agencies every step of the way.
This is a hands-on technical role. You’ll be in the drawings, on the job sites, solving real
problems — and you’ll do it as part of a team that has your back.

What You’ll Do Project Delivery & Technical Production

• Lead production of construction documents in AutoCAD (required) and Revit (preferred)
• Produce and coordinate high-quality construction documents in AutoCAD (required) and Revit (preferred)
• Perform QA/QC review of all project documents before submittal

Project Management

• Coordinate engineers and sub-consultants to maintain design intent through construction
• Support principal in charge with milestones and submittals

Client and Agency Coordination

• Participate in — and grow into leading — client meetings, permit processing, and plan check responses
• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for contractors and governing agencies as your role develops

Team Leadership

• Provide direction and guidance to junior designers and drafters on your projects
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture
