District Operations Manager The District Operations Manager (DOM) is a key field leader focused on driving superior operational performance, enhancing sales results, nurturing talent, and elevating the customer experience across multiple store locations. This position acts as a mentor, coach, and business partner to Store Managers, empowering them to cultivate high-performing teams while ensuring that our company standards are met consistently. The DOM collaborates with regional leadership and essential support teams in Talent Acquisition, HR, Merchandising, Loss Prevention, and Technology to amplify performance and guarantee that our stores provide an outstanding customer experience. Through data insights, market knowledge, and strategic planning, the DOM will ensure results are achieved while promoting accountability, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Enhancing Customer Experience: Champion a premier customer experience across the district by uplifting selling techniques and ensuring all stores uphold brand standards. Empower Store Managers to craft a friendly, customer-first atmosphere that deepens loyalty and fosters repeat customers. Leadership Development: Recruit, onboard, and train Store Managers and emerging leaders; maintain a strong internal talent pipeline for continuity. Provide consistent coaching, performance management, and succession planning that transforms Store Managers into effective, self-sufficient leaders. Foster a culture of accountability and teamwork, driving high levels of engagement and reduced turnover rates. Operational & Financial Excellence: Oversee district performance against KPIs, including sales, labor management, and customer satisfaction metrics. Examine weekly and monthly reports to determine trends and create action plans for performance enhancement. Optimize labor and operational resources to boost productivity without causing disruption. Market Insights: Leverage local market data to spot growth opportunities and adapt strategies around traffic, staffing, and product focus. Stay informed on competitive dynamics and retail trends to keep the district thriving. Effective Communication & Collaboration: Serve as a vital link between stores and corporate teams; ensure Store Managers are well-informed on company initiatives and priorities. Build cooperative relationships with departments including HR, Merchandising, Loss Prevention, Supply Chain, and Technology to facilitate execution and overcome challenges. Qualifications 5-7 years of leadership experience in multi-unit retail, overseeing 8+ stores or equivalent. Track record of driving improvements in district or multi-unit KPIs (e.g., +5-10% comp sales, reduced shrink, and improved customer metrics). Experience managing teams of 150-300+ through Store Managers. Proven ability to hire and develop leaders, promoting 20-40% internal talent annually. Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability in managing P&L and operational performance. Capacity to influence across functions and lead change initiatives among diverse teams. Analytical skills with proficiency in interpreting KPI dashboards and performance metrics. Willingness to travel regularly within the district (up to 70% of the time). Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to operational excellence. Candidate must reside in Pennsylvania or New Jersey. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field. Experience in an omni-channel retail setting. Proven success in executing corporate initiatives across multiple stores.
