Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center is seeking responsible, service-oriented individuals to join our Lifeguard team. We are actively hiring full-time and part-time Lifeguards year-round , offering opportunities for individuals looking to build valuable experience in safety, hospitality, and guest services within a premier resort environment.

As a Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests by monitoring aquatic facilities, enforcing safety standards, and responding effectively to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor pools and aquatic areas to ensure guest safety
• Enforce facility policies and water safety regulations
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide assistance when necessary
• Deliver exceptional guest service while maintaining a professional demeanor
• Conduct routine surveillance of assigned areas
• Assist in maintaining clean, safe, and well-maintained pool and deck environments

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Strong swimming ability and comfort working in and around water
• Excellent observation and decision-making skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
• Professional, reliable, and guest-focused attitude
• Ability to successfully complete the StarGuard ELITE Lifeguard Training Program

Training Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Swim 100 yards continuously using breaststroke or front crawl
• Retrieve a 10-pound object from a depth of 6 feet
• Tread water continuously for one minute without the use of hands
• Successfully complete StarGuard ELITE Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certification requirements

Scheduling Requirements

Candidates should be available to work a variety of shifts, including:

• Weekends
• Holidays
• Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous lifeguard or aquatic operations experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in hospitality, recreation, or customer service environments
• Commitment to teamwork, safety, and guest satisfaction
