About the Position Werfen is a global diagnostics company. This role is located in Bedford, MA. Position Summary Fully competent in one or more scientific/technical areas, plans and conducts assignments requiring mastery of specialized techniques. Responsibilities Apply scientific method and experimental design in problem solving. Use scientific expertise to provide solutions to a broad range of difficult problems. Deliver original, thorough, and practical solutions. Communicate progress status to supervisor and across the organization. Perform complicated or demanding assignments requiring specialized knowledge. May offer creative or inventive solutions. Define short- and mid-term objectives and implement plans to accomplish them. May direct the work of other personnel. Maintain accurate, precise, and legible laboratory notebooks. Maintain good documentation and write reports and technical summaries. Represent the company to outside organizations. Continuously broaden professional expertise through scientific literature and competitive product knowledge. Handle broad assignments and objectives under minimal supervision. Accomplish short-term objectives and perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications Ph.D. or equivalent in a scientific discipline, or relevant professional experience. Broad use and application of scientific principles, theories, and concepts in the field of expertise. Professional experience preferred. International mobility not required. Travel: less than 5% of time. Salary and Benefits Annual base salary range: $110,000 to $140,000.
