Intellectual Property Legal Assistant

A globally recognized, award‑winning law firm is recruiting for an IP Legal Assistant for its Washington, DC office. This role is suited for a highly organized, detail‑driven IP professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys supporting attorneys at a high level. The IP Legal Assistant plays a critical role in patent and trademark prosecution while providing exceptional internal and external client service. What You’ll Do: Provide comprehensive administrative and practice support to patent and/or trademark attorneys Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and filings Manage time entry, billing, expenses, and foreign associate invoices Calendar deadlines, manage schedules, coordinate travel, and arrange meetings Maintain electronic and paper files (iManage, Outlook, FileTrail) Submit conflict checks, prepare engagement letters, and open new matters Support patent prosecution, including USPTO filings, docket monitoring, client communications, and reporting Assist with trademark docketing, reporting, invoicing, and quality control Ensure deadlines are met through effective prioritization and workflow coordination Collaborate with team members and provide overflow support as needed What You Bring: 5+ years of administrative experience in a professional services environment 3+ years of patent prosecution experience Strong knowledge of IP workflows and legal document preparation Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel skills a plus Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines High level of professionalism, discretion, and client‑service focus #J-18808-Ljbffr DNA Partners
