Chair of PsychiatryMount Sinai South Nassau is currently seeking a Chair of Psychiatry!The Chair will work to ensure that mental health services are developed and managed in accordance with MSSN's mission, strategic direction and business position. The Chair of Psychiatry will direct activities of the mental health staff and ensure that mental health services are delivered in accordance with Mount Sinai South Nassau's policies and procedures, New York State regulations and guidelines, funder guidelines, and established best practices in mental health.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include overseeing clinician recruitment, supervision of all clinical care, as well as leading quality improvement. Additional responsibilities include regulatory preparedness, and adherence to the standards of various certifying agencies as well as working with hospital and health system leadership to optimize and improve care for all patients in behavioral health.Function as the leader of the Department of Psychiatry at South NassauDevelops, implements, and monitors clinical programs and services for the Department of Psychiatry, take steps to improve patient care outcomes/servicesCoordinates and integrates inter and intra departmental activities to improve the coordination of care and services and takes steps to improve the continuity of care throughout the continuumResponsible for the overall supervision of all clinical activity within the Department of psychiatryMonitors the professional competence of the medical staff within the Department of Psychiatry providing care for patients and takes appropriate action when indicatedCommunicates clearly with Departmental leadership, faculty and staff to outline roles, responsibilities, and expectations and conduct annual performance reviewsEnsuring Compliance with all regulatory (JC, CMS, OMH, DOH) requirements and standards at all timesDevelopment and execution of Performance Improvement initiatives within the DepartmentResponsible for fiscal viability of the clinical services in the department including management of budget, expenses and revenue.Ensure effective management and resolution of department specific patient complaints, emergency situations and critical eventsManage optimal training experience for trainees in the departmentQualificationsMD Degree with Board Certification in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry or PsychiatryMedical Degree from an Accredited UniversityNew York Medical LicenseCommitted to Mount Sinai South Nassau and the communities we serveExcellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skillsA strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven HealthCompensation range from 300K to 400K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)Salary Disclosure Information: Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
