Event Bartender

Event Bartender (Food Services) About the Role Join our Team! The City of Kentwood is seeking Event Bartenders to support our Parks & Recreation Department and help deliver high-quality beverage service at a variety of community events and facility rentals. In this role, you'll create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests while ensuring responsible alcohol service and smooth event operations. This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule that varies based on events, including evenings and weekends. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established standards Verify guest age and ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws and regulations Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service Set up and break down bar areas, including stocking supplies and preparing garnishes Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, equipment, and supplies Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to ensure a safe environment Accurately handle transactions and maintain basic sales and inventory records Communicate effectively with event staff, supervisors, and security Follow all safety, sanitation, and health guidelines Assist with inventory, restocking, and reporting supply needs Every event you work helps create a safe, fun, and memorable experience for our community! About You You're outgoing, dependable, and thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You take pride in providing excellent service, work well as part of a team, and can stay calm and professional while managing busy events. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED At least one year of bartending, food service, or customer service experience (or equivalent combination of experience and training) CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months) MLCC-approved alcohol server training (TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or equivalent) within 90 days of hire Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move supplies as needed For more details about responsibilities and qualifications, view the full job description here.
