About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 6 months of neuro experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Candidates must have at least 6 months of neuro experience. - Expected patient ratios are 1:5. - Experience with the NIH scale is important. - Proficiency in caring for neurology diagnoses is required. Description: This position focuses on neuro care in a telemetry setting. Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 months neuro experience. Thanksgiving and New Year's holidays are covered, but support is needed during Christmas. Candidates will be expected to float between units as needed. Weekend shifts are required, every other weekend. No on-call or block schedules are required. This is a neurology unit; familiarity with the NIH scale is essential. Experience with telemetry and neuro diagnoses is a prerequisite. Candidates will care for patients with conditions such as cerebrovascular accidents and spinal cord injuries. Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and post-neurosurgery care are required. Unit information includes interdisciplinary support and a daily patient census averaging around 48. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt in a high-demand environment. References covering the past year are needed during the compliance process prior to starting. Travelers may be expected to float between facilities if required.
