Cross Country Head Coach

VARSITY GIRLS' HEAD CROSS COUNTRY COACH

The Varsity Girls' Head Cross Country Coach position is available at Stevens MS. The coach is responsible for many aspects of program management and planning, including coaching as well as assisting with evaluation of players, implementation of program philosophy, organization and management of junior varsity and varsity practices and meets, travel planning and supervision of players. The coach will implement program policies and philosophies and will assist the other varsity head coach as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience coaching middle school cross country desired. Recent running experience may be substituted for coaching experience.
• Must prioritize sportsmanship, work ethic, consistency, organization, and communication with all players, staff and the community.
• Must relate well to student-athletes and must be able to teach fundamental running skills.
• Must display positive qualities such as enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and loyalty.
• Must represent the program with appropriate behavior and integrity at all times while developing and maintaining productive relationships with other employees, parents, students, and opponents where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
• Must meet WIAA coach certification requirements, or have willingness to work toward certification.
• Must hold current certification in First Aid/CPR prior to commencement of the cross country season.
• Must be able to obtain a clean Washington State driver's abstract in order to drive a district van to transport students.
• Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students, parents, staff, and program
• Responding to stressful situations appropriately.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
• All positions are on site and in person only.

Wages – Coaches $3,747.44 Benefits - Medical, Retirement, Basic Life/AD&D, Basic Long-Term Disability, FSA & HSA. Any employee anticipated to work at least 630 hours in the school year is eligible for benefits.
