Software Engineer

Software engineers are responsible for the complete life cycle of a new or modified software product, from research and design to implementation, training and support. Essential duties include designing, modifying, developing, writing and implementing software programming applications supporting internal business requirements or external customers. They support and/or install software applications, may include end user training and documentation, and document and maintain software functionality including break/fix and continual improvement. They participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software, and execute full life-cycle software development. They write well-designed, testable, efficient code for complex solutions, update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools and programming techniques, and participate in outside educational opportunities. They mentor Level I and II associates, facilitate associates on-boarding, review other team members' code to ensure adherence to standards, and work under limited supervision. They rely on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, are recognized by peers as a disproportionate contributor, may provide consultation on projects, and are considered to be a subject matter expert on technology. They are involved in Level II on-call support and have other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of equivalent experience. They must have 5+ years' experience in primary technology stack:.NET, C#, MVC, JavaScript, SSIS, T-SQL, demonstrable experience in full stack web application software development – front end Web UI, middle tier service layer, and back end database, experience in Agile development processes, methodologies, and tools, and demonstrable experience working with database technologies, able to write complex SQL statements to read, update, insert, and delete data. They must have excellent knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS, SQL, Web User Interface Design, Web Services, Object-Oriented Design, and Security Principles.
