Make a positive impact in the lives of students by stepping into a Special Education teaching role in a vibrant school community near High Point, NC. This full-time contract opportunity invites passionate educators dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for a group of 25 students at either the elementary (K-5) or middle school (6-8) level. Your expertise will help shape a learning space where every child’s unique strengths are celebrated and their challenges are met with understanding and skill.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with K-5 or 6-8 students
- Knowledge of best practices in special education, including IEP development and classroom differentiation
- Collaborative spirit to partner with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Strong communication skills for interacting with families and district personnel
- Commitment to nurturing students’ emotional, behavioral, and academic growth
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and monitor IEPs in compliance with all legal requirements
- Modify curriculum to support student access and success
- Track student progress, keeping thorough records and making data-driven decisions
- Foster a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Work as a supportive team member in professional development and collaborative meetings
- Communicate consistently with students’ families about progress, goals, and strategies
