MATERIALS HANDLER

Summary You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the Public Works Department in Commander, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Responsibilities You will determine optimal layout of material and develop a Warehouse Plan for effective utilization of spaces, efficient and safe workflow, and logical grouping of materials. You will receive, inspect and accept materials and supplies to verify shipments and deliveries are complete and accurate, and material is in good condition. You will coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials with docking area and scheduling personnel to facilitate movement of materials in accordance with priorities, scheduling requirements and space allocations. You will identify and document material turned in from completed work orders in compliance with accountability and management of Operating Materials and Supplies policies and procedures, and to enable accurate visibility of available inventory. You will perform spot checks and cycle counts to determine accuracy of the inventory. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Operating material handling equipment (MHE)/forklifts capable of lifting loads weighing 4,500 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or more to move material and reposition assets; 2) Receiving, inspecting, and accepting material and supplies to verify shipments and deliveries are complete and accurate; and 3) Providing proper documentation, including obtaining all required signatures for material issued, transferred, returned or disposed.
