Cardiac Sonographer OpportunityMeritus Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Sonographer to join our Cardiopulmonary Services team. In this vital role, you'll perform comprehensive diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams—including 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Contrast studies—to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. You'll work across both Meritus Health and the Cardiac Diagnostic Center, contributing to high-quality patient care and collaborating closely with cardiologists.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform a full range of cardiac ultrasound exams with precision and attention to detailPrepare exam areas and assist with maintaining accurate electronic health recordsDocument findings and provide preliminary reports to aid cardiologist interpretationAssist with invasive cardiac procedures such as Transesophageal Echo and pericardial tamponade aspirationMaintain and disinfect TEE probes according to protocolRespond effectively during high-utilization and emergency situationsParticipate in continuing education and assist with peer training and departmental improvementsManage processing, storage, and retrieval of cardiac studies efficientlyQualificationsEducation: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a cardiac sonography program or equivalent training requiredExperience: Clinical rotation or experience in Adult EchocardiographyCertification: Current BLS (CPR) certification requiredSkills:Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and medical terminologyProficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and optimizing image qualityAbility to position patients and adjust equipment for optimal imagingExcellent judgment, discretion, and communication skillsPhysical & Mental RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)Continuous attention to detail and ability to concentrate for extended periodsExposure to blood, body fluids, and occasional hazardous materialsWhy Join Meritus Health?At Meritus Health, we're committed to excellence in patient care and professional development.
