Assistant General Manager

Courtyard by Marriott North Charleston Airport/Coliseum is seeking a motivated, results-driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the daily operations of our hotel. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager to ensure exceptional guest experiences, achieve financial goals, maintain Marriott brand standards, and foster a positive team culture. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. Duties Operations & Guest Service Assist in overseeing all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance. Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction through proactive service recovery and problem resolution. Maintain compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies. Conduct property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence. Handle guest concerns and escalations with professionalism and urgency. Leadership & Team Development Support recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management of hotel associates. Lead by example in providing outstanding hospitality and service. Foster a positive and engaging work environment focused on accountability and teamwork. Conduct daily stand-up meetings and departmental communications as needed. Assist in managing hotel budgets, labor costs, and operating expenses. Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost control. Support inventory management and purchasing activities. Contribute to achieving RevPAR, guest satisfaction, and profitability goals. Partner with the sales team to maximize occupancy and revenue opportunities. Monitor market trends and competitor activity. Support revenue management strategies and operational execution. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with Marriott policies, local regulations, health requirements, and safety standards. Participate in risk management and emergency response procedures. Maintain a safe environment for guests and associates. Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of hotel leadership experience, preferably as an Operations Manager, Front Office Manager, or Assistant General Manager. Strong knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office. Preferred Previous Marriott brand experience. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. Experience with StayPMS, MGS, GXP, Toast and other Marriott systems. Proven track record of improving guest satisfaction and operational performance.
