Location: Aventura, FL
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital (467-bed) / Level II Trauma Center
Schedule: Full-Time | Days | No Weekends
Pay Rate: $38.52 – $55.26/Hour (Midpoint: $48.15)
Bonuses: Sign-on & relocation assistance (case-by-case)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and clinically strong Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health to lead a 53-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. This leadership role is responsible for 24/7 operational oversight, staffing management, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance within a high-acuity behavioral health environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong inpatient psychiatric nursing experience combined with proven leadership ability to manage large teams, ensure patient safety, and maintain Joint Commission readiness.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee 24/7 clinical and operational performance of a 53-bed inpatient Behavioral Health unit.

• Manage staffing, scheduling, and workflow for approximately 108 FTEs.

• Maintain safe RN-to-patient ratios (1:8) and ensure adequate coverage.

• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and corrective actions.

• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, state, and behavioral health regulations.

• Manage unit budget, productivity targets, and cost control initiatives.

• Collaborate with physicians, psychiatry teams, hospital leadership, and external stakeholders.

• Drive patient safety, satisfaction, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Maintain continuous survey readiness and regulatory compliance standards.

Requirements

• Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license.

• BSN required.

• BLS & ACLS required upon hire or within 30 days.

• CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) required upon hire or within 90 days.

• Minimum 3–5 years inpatient Behavioral Health nursing experience in acute care.

• 1–3 years of leadership experience (Charge RN, CNC, ANM, or Supervisor).

• Strong understanding of psychiatric nursing standards and safety protocols.

• Proven ability to manage large clinical teams in high-acuity environments.
