Practice Manager

The Practice Manager is primarily responsible for establishing their practice as a premier destination for all vision needs within the community, building the team member experience and practice culture, gaining market share, driving top‑line and profitability growth, and delivering key performance metrics while executing superior patient experiences. The Practice Manager will establish high standards of performance and operational excellence through leading their team, building high performing talent, and adherence to all policies and procedures. Responsibilities Drive quality and improvement to meet or exceed all key performance indicators. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of eye‑care practice operations, processes, policies, and the capability to transfer knowledge to produce superior sales and business results. Drive performance through focus on key company initiatives; partner with team members to improve patient journey, increasing revenue, efficiencies, and reducing practice expenses. Exhibit strong business acumen focused on continual improvement and execution of best practices for growth. Host daily huddles and weekly team meetings to celebrate successes and address areas of opportunity. Follow workforce management guidelines to develop staff schedules and patient flow for the site. Consistently establish clear expectations, train, coach, and develop the team to perform the job with excellence and accountability. Build talent within practice in partnership with Managing Doctor; coach team members through regular weekly 1‑on‑1 discussions, create development plans, and use progressive discipline when necessary. Perform administrative duties including cash, payroll, inventory management, and technical application. Interface with the support center and department leads to ensure site resources are deployed effectively from finance, operations, marketing, and training perspectives. Seek innovative ways to improve patient pain points and the overall patient experience. Perform all other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages 4+ employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Required Skills and Abilities Bilingual in English and Mandarin. Experience with running operations of a site, preferably in healthcare or related patient care services field. Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency. Detail oriented with effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong EQ skills – ability to manage both doctor and employee relations. Direct patient care experience required, optician license or optical experience preferred. Education and Experience High school diploma or two years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and receiving detailed information through oral communication. Hand dexterity and eye‑hand coordination critical. Lifting: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount regularly to move objects; use of one or both arms and wrists. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time. Standing: able to stand for sustained periods. Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word. Additional Requirements Travel as needed between practices. Required visual acuity for determining accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work and to read a computer screen for long periods. Walking: moving on foot to accomplish tasks, especially for long distances or moving between workstations.
