Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Estimator, located in Irvington, NJ. We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in custom architectural millwork, a thorough understanding of commercial construction documents, and the ability to prepare detailed, competitive, and accurate project estimates.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project blueprints and specification, conducting site visits, preparing cost estimates, maintaining communication with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

• Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, proposals, and other project documentation to establish project scope and prepare accurate time, material, labor, and cost estimates.
• Prepare detailed and competitive estimates for custom architectural millwork, cabinetry, and related fabrication projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, hardware, fabrication, finishing, delivery, and installation costs.
• Interpret plans, elevations, sections, details, finish schedules, and specifications to determine project requirements and pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, missing information, special requirements, and potential cost risks; coordinate questions and clarifications before submitting bids.
• Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate pricing with vendors, subcontractors, and manufacturers to support accurate and competitive estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, production personnel, drafting teams, and other internal departments to validate project assumptions, material requirements, labor estimates, and fabrication considerations.
• Review bid documents, addenda, and revisions and update estimates as project requirements change.
• Prepare and submit complete bid packages, including pricing breakdowns, assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications as appropriate.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and manufacturers throughout the estimating process to clarify requirements and resolve pricing questions.
• Proactively follow up on submitted bids, discuss estimates with clients, and support the process through final project award.
• Maintain organized estimating worksheets, cost information, vendor quotations, and supporting bid documentation.
• Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting established bid deadlines.
• Support the transition of awarded projects to project management and production teams by communicating estimate details, pricing assumptions, and scope considerations.

• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the custom architectural millwork, woodworking and millwork fabrication industries .
• Ability to interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, finish schedules, and specifications.
• Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and calculating material, labor, fabrication, finishing, and installation costs.
• Familiarity with millwork materials, hardware, finishes, fabrication methods, and construction techniques.
• Experience in takeoff software - Planswift
• Ability to identify scope gaps, technical discrepancies, and potential cost risks before submitting bids.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimates and meet demanding bid deadlines independently.
