Range Assistant II

Introduction Delaware's Division of Fish & Wildlife manages nearly 65,000 acres of public land, offering fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing, and boating access. As a member of the Ommelanden Hunter Education Training Center and public shooting range, you will support day‑to‑day operations and maintenance. Responsibilities Operate, load, and maintain trap and skeet shooting machines. Enforce range safety policies and procedures for rifle and pistol range participants. Demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills. Assist with general grounds maintenance, including trash removal, grass cutting, and minor building repairs such as painting. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements At least 18 years of age. Knowledge of firearms use, care, and safety. Knowledge of general grounds maintenance functions and equipment. Knowledge of basic maintenance repairs. Valid driver’s license. Conditions of Hire This is a casual/seasonal, non‑pension eligible position without health care or other benefits. Criminal background checks are required; applicants may be asked to pay the related costs. All new hires must attend Statewide New Employee Orientation on their first day.
