Position Details Position Title: Recruitment Coordinator (RC) – Fostering Idaho Regional Recruitment and Retention Posting Number: 2026034EP Classification: 1531 RCW Exemption – 100% Full Time, Exempt Administrative Bargaining Unit Location: Boise, ID Term: 12 months Anticipated Start Date: 7/15/2026 Salary Range: $55,571 - $58,000 (based on education, experience, and skills) Job Summary The College of Professional Programs, Family Resource and Training Center (FRTC) at Eastern Washington University seeks a skilled, team-oriented Recruitment & Retention Coordinator (RC) for the Fostering Idaho Regional Recruitment and Retention initiative. Under the direction of the FRTC Director, the RC will coordinate and sustain regional recruitment for foster families, leading the Statewide Diligent Recruitment Plan and the Resource Peer Mentor program, along with related retention activities. About Us The FRTC partners with state social service agencies, community organizations, and Title IV-E affiliates, operating as a training and service center for developing social workers and foster parents, and supporting Social Work interns from EWU. Distinguishing Characteristics The RC collaborates with regional child welfare leadership teams to develop, coordinate, and maintain recruitment and retention activities of qualified foster families. Responsibilities include implementing the Diligent Recruitment Plan, coordinating partner recruitment and logistics for community-based Recruitment Advisory Councils (RAC), supervising regional Resource Peer Mentors, recording activities for data collection and program evaluation, and traveling across the state as needed. Job Responsibilities Lead regional Recruitment Advisory Council (RAC) Interact with licensing workers weekly to discuss recruitment needs and activities Cultivate community relationships to promote foster family recruitment and support Participate in implementation of the Diligent Recruitment Plan Develop the annual Regional Recruitment Plan Organize, facilitate, and present at public events Provide mentoring support to Resource Peer Mentors (RPM) related to recruitment activities Maintain documentation and data collection records using provided forms and technology Provide training and preparation for RPMs to mentor foster families Complete mentoring assignments and follow-up alongside RPMs Interact with child welfare staff to discuss foster family mentoring needs Collaborate with child welfare staff on special events such as Foster Family Appreciation Event, Child Abuse Prevention Month, National Adoption Month, National Foster Care Month, and Foster Family Conference Report to the FRTC Director any issues, concerns, or recommendations regarding RPM Program and Diligent and Regional Recruitment Plans Support RPMs through supervision, scheduling, activity reports, and monitoring contracted hours of service Engage with supervisor and FRTC Director in recruitment and hiring of RPMs Perform hiring process of new RPMs (interview, orientation, training, employee development plan) Schedule and facilitate monthly staff meetings with assigned RPMs Coordinate RPM staffing needs to ensure adequate coverage for foster parents and training activities Monitor social media activity on regional pages Work closely with FRTC Director to maintain high quality employee performance and delivery of services Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Child Development, Education, or related field AND at least two (2) years of professional experience working within the child welfare system OR At least 2 years of professional experience in program/project management, recruitment or related field, including supervision of staff AND At least 2 years of professional experience working within the child welfare system Complete mandatory training within 6 months of hire (Preservice, TOT, TBRI) Three years of professional experience in social services Knowledge of trauma-informed care Knowledge of the complex needs of children and families involved in foster care Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership and/or supervisory skills Strong computer skills, including use of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint Experience with database management Knowledge of creative design/marketing Ability to travel up to 30% as described in Conditions of Employment Ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach supportive of universal access for students, faculty, staff, and the public Preferred Qualifications At least two (2) years of supervisory experience Five (5) or more years of experience in social services Program development experience Equal Opportunity Statement EWU does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, citizenship, immigration status, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, age, marital status, families with children, protected veteran or military status, HIV or hepatitis C, status as a mother breastfeeding her child, or any sensory, mental, or physical disability or use of a guide dog or service animal, as required by state and federal law.
