Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Clarksburg, MD. Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support general accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, analyzing financial results, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analyze income statement activity
• Investigate variances and provide financial analysis to support business decisions
• Maintain fixed asset, prepaid, accrual, and intercompany accounting schedules
• Support financial reporting and management reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
• Assist with external audits and provide supporting documentation
• Partner with Finance and operational teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
• Support special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements as needed
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with month-end close and variance analysis
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• CPA certification or CPA candidate
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar
• Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation
• Multi-entity or multi-currency accounting experience
