Job Summary:
This Psychiatric Nursing (RN) position is located in Iowa City, Iowa. The role involves providing specialized care on an adult high acuity inpatient unit dedicated to individuals experiencing psychiatric symptoms related to mood disorders, thought disorders, and co-occurring intellectual disabilities with psychiatric overlay. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of work.

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts during day and evening hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN license (Iowa or compact state); Basic Life Support (BLS); MOAB certification; no minimum experience required
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior MOAB certification (may be provided by the organization if not available at start)
• Additional Information: The unit is a 4-bed inpatient Psychiatric Service caring for adults with acute psychiatric needs, including mood and thought disorders. The treatment team includes psychologists, therapists, physicians, social workers, psychiatric nursing assistants, and behavioral health consultants. Behavior management plans are supported by psychology professionals.
