As part of this team, you will contribute to development and certification testing of low and high voltage system electronics that are part of our Integrated Flight Controls, Processing, and Communication systems within our VTOL electric aircraft. We are looking to expand this team with individuals looking to make a mark in the transportation industry.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and Certification testing of various safety critical Joby airborne electronic hardware.Assist during LRU, sub-system, and system level qualification test campaigns:Magnetic effects TestingPower Inputs and Voltage spikeAudio/Radio and Signal SusceptibilityConducted and Radiated EmissionsESDDirect and Indirect effects of lightningDevelop/compose test requirements and work with the team to develop test setupsDomestic travel to EME test labs as neededQualification Test Procedures development and coordinationWork closely with Design, Certification and Testing team to comply with D0-160Troubleshooting/debugging of test setup and airborne electronic hardwareRequiredBachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in a relevant field, OR Advanced degree and 3+ years of relevant experienceStrong analog EE fundamentals related to Power Quality testingStrong experience using lab test equipment (O-scopes, HV Differential Probes, milli-ohmmeters, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Supplies, Amplifiers, Transformers, Current Probes, Injection Probes, Reverb Chambers) Experience testing electronics hardware to DO-160, MIL-461 type (or similar standards) environmental tests.Experience with root cause analysis (nondestructive) of electronics failureDesiredDO-160 / MIL-461 Test Lab experience is a strong plus Aerospace background is a plusExperience working with High Voltage DC is a plusExperience with Matlab/Python for post-processing of data from equipment under test and external instrumentation.Experience with LabView for Data Acquisition and potentially automation (invoking desired equipment functions at different conditions).Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
